Frequently Asked Questions
General
What exactly is Hoeve Vianen?
We believe the most valuable memories are made in a place where time slows down and where you share moments with people you love. That is why we transformed Hoeve Vianen — a former farm in the northern part of Texel — into a small-scale holiday park where you can enjoy peace, space and nature together. In short: your Texel home for the moments that truly matter.
What type of people usually choose Hoeve Vianen?
Many of our guests are families, natural‑lovers and/or people looking for peace and quiet — those who want to avoid the crowds rather than be in the middle of them.
How far is the beach from Hoeve Vianen?
The beaches Paal 33 and Paal 28 near De Cocksdorp are about a 10‑minute drive away. These beaches tend to be a bit calmer than the more popular beaches near the seaside resort town of De Koog — where you can also be with your feet in the sand within 20 minutes by car. Just what you’re looking for!
I’m looking for a holiday home on Texel — what does Hoeve Vianen offer?
At Hoeve Vianen you’ll find holiday homes for 2 persons; 2 adults plus 2 children; 10 persons; and 12 persons. Also for groups of roughly 6, 7, 8 or 9 people our larger holiday homes are perfectly suitable. Good to know: all holiday homes at Hoeve Vianen are fully self‑contained, with their own entrance and facilities. Check out our Farm Lodges page. Here you’ll find our holiday homes and all the information for each property. You can then easily book your preferred dates online through our booking engine.
I’m looking for a holiday home for more than 12 people — can you help with that?
Depending on the composition of your travel group, we’ll check if we can offer a combination of different holiday homes on our grounds. All of our Farm Lodges are located close to each other.
Is Texel worth visiting with a dog?
Texel is a lovely island to explore together with your dog. It’s good to know where your dog must be kept on‑leash and where not.
I can’t find the answer to my question — what should I do?
Almost all information about staying at Hoeve Vianen can be found on our website. Maybe you didn’t find it — or maybe you have an unusual question. Then please send us an email at info@hoevevianen.nl.
Booking and Payment
On which days can I arrive and depart?
Arrival days are Monday or Friday. Departure days are Monday, Friday or Sunday. That means it’s possible to book stays from Monday to Friday, Monday to Sunday, Monday to Monday, Friday to Sunday, Friday to Monday or Friday to Friday. During Ascension (Hemelvaart) it is also possible to arrive on Wednesday (minimum stay 4 nights).
My payment isn’t going through — what should I do?
That’s unfortunate. First check if you have sufficient funds — especially with credit‑card payments this is often the problem. If payment still doesn’t work, send us an email including your comment and reservation number. We will look into the issue for you or arrange payment via bank transfer.
Am I allowed to bring my dog to Hoeve Vianen?
In all accommodations at Hoeve Vianen a maximum of one pet is allowed. On the premises dogs must be kept on a leash so that all guests can enjoy their stay safely and peacefully.
If you want to bring a pet, please indicate this when booking. Please note that additional costs apply because of the extra cleaning required.
How is the rental price composed?
Rental price of the accommodation (incl. VAT). On top of that:
- Tourist tax
- Free bed linen & towels set
- Final cleaning is included
- Deposit per booked accommodation, to be paid on arrival by PIN or credit‑card. You get this back (a few working days) after departure if house rules have been respected.
- Optional: 1 pet
- Optional: charging costs for electric vehicles (added on top of rental price)
If you didn’t book through our own website, there may still be outstanding additional costs on arrival. You can check this with the party you booked via. Also, you may use a central washing machine free of charge. We do not charge booking fees. The exact price for your selected dates and accommodation can be found via our booking system; after that you can reserve online directly.
I have a discount code — how does it work?
In our booking module you can add your discount code. If the code is valid, you will see the discount amount or percentage applied to the total price in the booking summary. Discount codes are only valid on our own website.
Can I split the booking payment into instalments?
If you’d like to pay the booking amount in parts, this is possible in a maximum of two instalments: 60 % at the time of booking and 40 % a few months before arrival. You need to send us an email for this.
Preparing for Your Stay
What time can I check in and check out?
Check-in is possible on our changeover days (Monday and Friday) from 15:00. Check-out on Monday or Friday between 09:00 and 10:00. If you are leaving a day earlier, a later check-out is not a problem. We ask you to agree on the check-out time at arrival. We do not have a reception, so check-in and -out takes place at the farmhouse at the front of the property. We are always there on Monday and Friday — but if by chance you don’t find anyone at the farmhouse, call us on +31 222 740 000 and we’ll come to give you a warm welcome.
Where can I park and/or charge an electric car?
You can park your car free of charge in our on-site car park. Paid parking applies in many parking lots and beaches on the island. Take a look over here for more information. We currently do not have a charging station for electric cars. However, charging can be done in many places on the island. Take a look over here where electric cars can be charged.

From the parking area follow the signpost and path to the back; on the left you’ll find a black door marked “Wasmachine”. In that same space there is also a communal freezer that you may use.
Do you offer cancellation insurance?
We recommend that all our guests purchase travel insurance. If you are unexpectedly unable to come, you can in certain cases fall back on this insurance to cover costs incurred. We do not provide this ourselves, but this can certainly be arranged externally. Take a look over here for more information about travel insurance that we recommend.
We also offer a risk fund. In certain situations, participation in the risk fund indemnifies you against cancellation costs due to force majeure and indemnifies you against costs in accordance with our cancellation conditions. A number of rules and conditions apply to this. For a detailed explanation of the risk fund, see our booking conditions under the cancellation conditions chapter
Is there a map/floor plan of the property?
On the detail page of each Farm Lodge, you will find the corresponding floor plan of the house. A floor plan of the entire property can be found here.
